Three Things Thursday 12.17.15

Three Things Thursday 12.17.15

Three things on my mind this week...

1: I am 4 wakeups away from December break, not that I am counting. The sound during the 6th grade lunchroom this week has been unbelievable, I walk away with a migraine. The students are excited for the first break of the 2015-2016 school year and teachers are excited to be able to sleep in for a few extra hours every morning.

2: Quantico. The mid winter finale was this past Sunday, I already have an alarm on my phone set for March 6th 2016 for a new episode. Since when do shows have a mid season finale? This is news to me. I tuned into Quantico, like almost every other South Asian, to watch Priyanka Chopra on American television. I was hooked by the storyline of Quantico and watched it religiously! I am not going to mention any spoilers, if you get a chance watch the previous episodes on Hulu before the show starts up again in March.

3: My friend and I are going to the Bryant Park Winter Village this weekend! The pop up shops have the best items and the food is always super delicious! I was a little fearful of being in Manhattan right before the holidays. I refuse to live my life in fear!

Three Things Thursday 12.10.15

Three Things Thursday 12.10.15

This week's Three Things Thursday is about the highlights from my week!

1: On Monday, I took a trial class at Orange Theory Fitness (OTF). They have been popping up all over Long Island. My coworker joined OTF a few months ago and has been raving about it. So I called my local location and signed up for a free trial class. Before the class, I was so nervous, I wasn't sure what to expect, I walked in and was greeted by two friendly employees who gave me a tour of the facility. I met the instructor and we went over my personal fitness goals. Then it was time for the class to begin, I was impressed when the instructor asked the class if there were any injuries. You wear a heart rate monitor and it tracks your intensity level and heartbeats per minute on a large screen in the workout room. The workout was great! It was my first time on a row machine. I kicked butt, I am really proud, that I pushed myself, after the class I received an email with an estimation of how many calories I burned, and what percentage I spent at each intensity level. Needless to say, I walked out with a membership! I am so excited to be a part of the OTF Family!

2:  On Tuesday, my friend and I met up for a late lunch at Senior Frogs in Time Square. Being in New York City in the month of December is awesome. Every storefront is decorated with festive decor. I would say it starting to feel like winter, however the last few days the weather has been in the 50s in NYC. For those who don't believe in global warming, check the weather forecast for the next few days, this is unusually warm for December in NYC. Before I caught the LIRR home, I took a photo of the Empire State Building, lit up in pink and white for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

3: This week is Inclusive Education Week and the importance of including students with all levels of abilities into mainstream general education setting.

Three Things Thursday 12.3.15

Three Things Thursday 12.3.15

Wow, where has time gone? It is December, guys, DECEMBER!!!!!! This year has been amazing, more on that later, I promise.

This weekend, I am spending the weekend with my cousin and her family in Dirty Jersey. As I mentioned in my first post, I love being an Aunt! This weekend, I get to surround myself with my three beautiful nieces, who will be running circles around me giggling and laughing. This is our 2nd annual holiday weekend tradition, we will decorate a gingerbread house and bake cupcake and we cap the night off with a Bollywood film. My nieces are huge Bollywood fans like their Massi. With the types of films getting released lately, it is difficult to find kid appropriate movies (NO gyrating dance moves and talking about Sheela and her jawani please!!!!)

Here are my three favorite kid friendly Bollywood films, so cuddle up with the little ones in your life and enjoy a family friendly Bollywood night!

1: Bajrangi Bhaijaan:
This movie has Salman Khan, if you don't know who he is, stop what you are doing and Google him!!!

2: Do Dooni Chaar:
This film reunites the real life couple Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh on the big screen!

3: Khoobsurat:
This last film is produced by Disney and has all the components of a good Disney movie and I can't wait to watch it on Saturday with my nieces! The main "hero" in this Bollywood/Disney film is Fawad Khan, such adorable eye candy!

What are some kid friendly Bollywood films you recommend?
